IET London: Savoy Place is hosting a series of free-to-attend evening events for IET Members, these will take place in the Kelvin Lounge from 17:00 until 19:00. If you would like to come along please register your interest at savoyplace@ietvenues.co.uk.

Member room bookings from July 2013

As recently announced in Member News, the IET will be temporarily co-locating its member facilities with the IMechE from July 2013. Members wishing to book meeting rooms from July 2013 onwards, should contact the IMechE bookings team directly on 0207 204 6823. 

Open evenings at One Birdcage Walk for IET Members

All IET members are invited to two 'open evenings' to be held at One Birdcage Walk

Each evening will be an opportunity to take a look at the building and learn more about the shared library, business centre and member lounge facilities that will be available during the refurbishment for IET London: Savoy Place.

The events will take place on:

Thursday 4 July 2013 from 4pm - 7pm
Tuesday 16 July 2013 from 5pm - 7m

The Kelvin Lounge

Located on the ground floor just beyond reception, this is a stunning lounge space dedicated to you and your guests during the day. The friendly bar staff will take your orders from the café-style menu as you enjoy a newspaper from the daily selection, copies of E&T magazine, or information on upcoming events as well as free WiFi throughout the venue. With unlimited tea, coffee and hot chocolate for members served all day, you can enjoy the comfort of the lounge for informal events or to simply entertain your guests.

From 1st November 2012 the Kelvin Lounge will be open Monday - Friday 08:00 - 19:30*. The Lounge is also available to hire for evening events – enjoy cocktails and a full bar service without interruption. We can also provide canapés or bowl food with the dishes of your choice.

* Please note that beverages are served from 08:30 - 19:00. 

The Appleton Business Centre

Designed exclusively for you, this professional, self-contained office environment is aimed at making your business meetings as productive as possible.

Offering privacy and a quiet space in the heart of Westminster, The Appleton Business Centre consists of three meetings rooms for discussions and presentations for up to eight people in each room. Each room has a small refreshment area, full AV support and can be booked with or without catering options. Within the suite is a communal break-out area, offering shared access to refreshments, as well as the essential PCs, printing facilities and free WiFi Internet access. The Appleton Rooms are available Monday - Friday 08:00 - 18:00 (Beverages 08:00 - 17:00). 

The complimentary shared suite can be used as a drop-in centre, whereas the Appleton Rooms require pre-booking at subsidised member rates* of £190 + VAT (full day) or £110 + VAT (half day) – please contact the team for reservations on the dedicated numbers 020 7344 8438 or 020 7344 8460.

* Please quote membership number at time of booking, payment needs to be received in advance of the meeting date.

The IET Library 

With an impressive Thames view and a long history of engineering brilliance, this is a space that can only inspire. Whether you want free Internet access, photocopying, e-books or electronic journals, our Library has it all – buried within centuries of books, publications and journals.
