Experience a summer of LEGO adventure and family fun at IET London: Savoy Place

We are excited to announce the return of our LEGO® takeover in the fully air-conditioned Heaviside Exhibition Room, open to members and their families over the summer holidays.

With around 10,000 LEGO bricks available, aspiring engineers can create their own masterpieces or contribute to existing designs. Younger children will have an area with larger bricks, ensuring fun for all ages.

You can also take part in our win a LEGO® education set competition. Simply post a photo of the LEGO® build on Instagram, please ensure that no children are visible in the image and tag @theIET and use #IETSummerLEGO to be entered into the prize draw.

Ten winners will be selected each week, with up to 50 LEGO® Education Explore Kits available to be won.

The competition opens on Monday, 27 July 2026, at 9.30am and closes on Friday, 28 August 2026, at 12pm. Winners will be randomly selected from eligible entries, with each week’s entry period closing at 12pm every Friday. Full terms and conditions are available here.

This year comes with an inspiring addition, as part of Pride in the Quarter, say hello to our sponsored lion just outside, a sculpture that forms part of a free public art trail in the heart of central London.

The trail celebrates community, creativity and culture, making it the perfect addition to a day out in the city alongside a visit to our LEGO® takeover. Feeling inspired after meeting our Pride in the Quarter lion? Why not try building your own version in LEGO® while you’re here.

From 27 July to 28 August 2026, we will be open Monday to Friday, 9am to 4.30pm.

If you’re feeling hungry after all that building, our chef has created some LEGO®-inspired treats available to buy alongside a range of family-friendly lunch options in the Faraday Kitchen, all available at exclusive member prices.

Martyn Westcott-Wreford, Operations Manager, IET London: Savoy Place, says: “We are delighted to be opening our doors to members and their families again this summer.
