IET London: Savoy Place sponsors Pride in the Quarter lion | Community, inclusion and creativity in Westminster

Celebrating community, creativity and inclusion in the heart of London

At IET London: Savoy Place, bringing people together has been part of our story for more than a century.

Set on the River Thames in the heart of Westminster, Savoy Place is one of central London’s most distinguished event venues and the London home of The Institution of Engineering and Technology (IET) since 1909. From this historic building, the IET supports a global community of more than 157,000 engineers and technologists working to engineer a better world.

Our purpose extends far beyond engineering. We believe the strongest communities are built when everyone feels welcome, represented and able to contribute. Inclusion, diversity and belonging are central to everything we do, from the events we host to the partnerships we build.

That is why we are proud to sponsor a lion in Pride in the Quarter, a free public art trail created by London Heritage Quarter.

Throughout summer 2026, 17 giant lion and lioness sculptures will appear across Westminster and Victoria, transforming central London into an open-air celebration of creativity, culture and community. Inspired by the spirit of football and the excitement of a summer of sport, the trail invites Londoners and visitors alike to explore the city, discover local stories and experience the power of public art to bring people together.

We are delighted that our lion has been designed by Tasia Graham, whose vibrant and expressive work reflects storytelling, individuality and connection.

For us, sponsoring a lion is about much more than supporting a striking sculpture.

It is about investing in the local community, celebrating diverse voices and creating moments of joy and discovery in the places where people live, work and visit every day. It reflects our commitment to creating welcoming spaces where our members and customers can connect, collaborate and feel they belong.

This summer, our lion will stand proudly as a symbol of inclusion, innovation and community spirit in the heart of London.
