Step 7 - marketing tips for after your event

Essential communications to send after your event

Your event may be over, but the insights are just beginning. Follow up with thank-you notes to attendees, speakers, and suppliers.

Gather feedback with a survey while it’s fresh, and then utilise this feedback, alongside your own experience, to evaluate the event against your objectives.

  • What worked well?
  • What could be improved?
  • Did the event connect with your target audience?
  • What new opportunities emerged?
  • Was there anything missing?

Survey feedback will also be crucial in reporting event success to your stakeholders, as will statistics, where relevant, on the number of attendees, the number of business meetings that took place, and the number of leads acquired by exhibitors and sponsors (plus their estimated ROI).

How to promote your event after it's finished

Visuals will work well here. Share imagery of the event with stakeholders. Showcase highlights from press coverage. Could you perhaps film some mini-interviews on the day, showing the positive reaction to the event?

Don’t forget to utilise social media too – sharing engagement stats and screengrabs of encouraging comments. Above all, remember to celebrate what you’ve achieved – because you did it.

And don’t forget to take inspiration from Tomorrow’s Talent Award winners - professionals who started exactly where you are now - reminding us that curiosity, collaboration, and kindness are the keys to long-term success.
