This room is named after Louis Mountbatten, a naval officer and statesman who specialised in wireless radio during WWII.
In memory of his revolutionising work, the IET Mountbatten Medal was established in 1992 and is awarded annually for an outstanding contribution to the promotion of electronics or information technology and their application.
