How long have you worked at Savoy Place?

Nearly two years, I started on 2 July 2018.

What does your role involve?

I’m a meeting and events coordinator, I’m looking after small events, up to 200 delegates.

I am the first point of contact for existing and new clients, generally arranging site visits so clients can come and see the venue.

A lot of our clients have such a great event that they want to rebook, so I work closely with them to ensure there’s space for their next event, I enjoy being able to maintain a strong relationship with clients.

Also, I attend sales exhibitions, conferences and networking events with my colleague Tom (our Business Development Manager) when required and really enjoy the variety this gives my role.

What’s your favourite part of the job?

Meeting new clients for the initial site visit is my favourite part of my day-to-day job. Nothing beats seeing the look on clients' faces when they see our venue.

We have a beautiful historic central London building and clients are often so excited when for example they walk through our Riverside room with a view over the River Thames and the London Eye, it is nice to see their reactions.

What’s your favourite room at Savoy Place?

My favourite room is the Mountbatten Exhibition Room. It is a versatile space which gives the option for our clients to use the space as they wish from a syndicate room to a drinks reception followed by a seating dinner, it has also lots of natural daylight and high-spec AV equipment.

Plus, it houses one of our permanent engineering exhibitions “Women in engineering”, which always catches the attention of our guests and gives a certain uniqueness and identity to the room.

Although the Faraday Centre (members area) is also one of my favourite spaces in Savoy Place. It is the perfect space - a comfortable and bright lounge with long French windows for meeting and greeting clients. I usually take them to the Faraday Kitchen where I can treat them with tea and coffee and fresh house-made cake bites. It always gives a first good impression of the venue and our facilities.

What’s been your favourite event at the venue?

The Riverside Company, hosted by The Riverside Europe Partners LLP was and it is still as they are one of our regular clients, my favourite event that I have organised at the venue.

It is a small event - they are usually between 80-90 guests - but there is a lot to organise in terms of logistics and planning, they turned our Riverside room into their home with cosy seating, a library with bookshelves and plants including olive trees which creates a warm and pleasant ambience.

What did you do before working at Savoy Place?

I am French and I finished my studies in Hospitality at home just before moving to London in 2012, a month prior to the Olympic Games.

I first moved to the UK to improve my English and then I realised that it would be the perfect country to find my way into the event industry.

To start, I worked for Accor as a waitress and then after three years, I moved to the Banqueting and Conferences department for two more years as an Event Coordinator.

What do you like to do outside of work?

I love hiking and finding new trails outside of the city, it is one of the best ways to discover the English countryside. And I do a lot of exercise, try different classes at the gym which helps me a lot to release all the stress from a busy yet rewarding job.
