Supporting new innovation in STEM: Win venue space for a year

Are you a start-up business that’s been initiated since January 2020? IET Venues are on the lookout to reward one new technology or engineering-focused business with central London meeting space for a year worth up to £12,000, along with access to a free marketing mentor from the Institution of Engineering and Technology.

As part of a campaign to support new innovation in STEM and in light of the challenges that courageous new start-ups have been faced with as a result of the pandemic, the prize aims to provide a professional venue space with access to state-of-the-art facilities for meetings and business pitches.

The prize

One lucky winner will be selected to benefit from:

  • A monthly private meeting space throughout 2022 for up to 10 guests with tea, coffee, and biscuits, and conferencing facilities to reach remote audiences, allowing new start-up teams to meet and work collaboratively
  • A virtual one-to-one mentoring session with an IET associate – the IET’s marketing director offering valuable insights and advice on successfully marketing a new product/service to a target audience
  • Favourable rates for hire of larger spaces and resources if required

Who can enter?

In order to qualify you must:

  • Be part of a ‘start-up’ business established from January 2020 onwards
  • Have no more than 10 current employees in your team/business
  • Have a product or service that falls within the STEM (science, technology, engineering, and maths) sector

To strengthen your chance of winning, we want to hear about your innovative product and what difference this prize would make to the success of your business, and the judges are particularly keen to hear from start-ups who particularly align to the IET’s values and strategy.

Download and complete the application form. To enter, you must email it to the email address supplied in the form no later than 5pm on Tuesday 30 November 2021.

Judging process

The competition will close for entries at 5pm on Tuesday 30 November 2021 and a judging panel consisting of a representative from IET Venues, The IET, and Custard Communications will select a winner to be announced on Monday 10 January 2022.
